Going home soon. Sad to leave Crête but I am itching to get home again. Saw some of the sweetest cats and dogs today. Had a Gyros for dinner. Waiting for the coach to pick us up now. See you all soon!
Went to a famous island called Spinalonga which was inhabited by lerpers a long time ago (Google that for the full story). I went snorkling again in the beautiful Mediterranean sea, near the island of Kolokithia, and spotted some Plaice, Urchins and many, many different small fish! Called off the go-carting. Leaving tomorrow... :-( But the good news is I am coming home to the equally beautiful UK! Was planning to sea the pink beach of Elafanisi, (I hope I spelt that correctly!) but the journey would be four hours each way :-/Can't wait to get home and produce a small video of the holiday!
Lazy day today. A walk around the shops. Nothing more. Literally. I bought a postcard. :) Let's start this one differently... OMG I went to a brilliant water park today! Some really steep slides and huge high ones and fast ones etc. It was absolutelty brilliant! One slide was at an almost 90° angle and another had a steep slope, then a straight stretch, then a steeper slope to finish. The best slide was called "Tsunami"...The best way to think of "Tsunami" is to imagine a really wide tube, cut it in half and throw some water in it after painting it white. You are pushed onto it at great speed and the intial boost part is exactly an 85° angle. The rest is slipping and sliding. In the park were also some slides which you use a ring to career down. Rings could also be used to have a leisurely cruise along the Lazy River (the name says it all). Tomorrow I will be going go-carting. Proper petrol. :-]<pictures coming soon>
Once again, a crazy day! I got smashed in the face by waves, scraped along the sand the bottom of the ocean... I have never experienced such powerful waves! I bought a t-shirt for 13€. Original price was 18€ but I got it down to 13. Hopefully I will show that off on LFP soon or perhaps ASG2 (you will know why when you see it!) for an unboxing :D. Went to Malia (or Mallia) on a really comfortable local bus. Spent a while in the pool as well. Going to a water park tomorrow! Sorry, no pictures today. Going go-carting soon. Proper go-carting. No pedals apart from the accelerator and brake. Teehee. Petrol deathtraps FTW!
Wow! Crazy day! First off (after big breakfast :D) I went to a mountain range in a little red Suzuki (below) and looked at the view (below). Three of us in the back, only two seats... Off with the roof and riding on the roll-cage! I was holding on for dear life on the dirt and gravel road! I have to say, there are more comfortable positions than being pirched on a steel roll-cage. I saw a tree aged over 2,500 years! The roots reach down so far that "aparently" there was a café built into the roots. I will show off the whole tree in a video on my channel (http://youtube.com/arate100) soon, but below is a picture of part of it. Went for a midnight swim tonight! Salty sea, but no tides because it is the mediterranean sea. There were probably fish, but it was in the dead of night so all I did was wave-ride!Fruit "scavanged" from "wild" plants: figs, grapes, grapes, grapes, some sort of passion fruit and some grapes. There are a lot of figs here. A lot of dogs and cats just roaming around across roads and paths etc. as well. I look forward to tomorrow!
OKAY! First night at Crête was extremely humid. I nearly dropped when stepping off the plane! On the first night I saw this horrific clown shower (below) in a water park near the beach. I went snorkling today around some rocks at that beach. Colours of fish: Blue, brown, black, grey & orange. Going for a midnight swim tonight! YOLO! Can't wait for tomorrow! I am sleeping in my proper room tonight. Yesterday I was in a different hotel because they were full at this one. Grrrr, easyJet! Temperatures are about 20°C - 30°C. Not too bad when there is a breeze. I took a snap of outside the first room (below). In that tree were millions of "crickets" which sound like bats at a football game. They don't make noise at night so I am able to sleep sound. Well, that is the first night and day over. I can not wait for tomorrow!
